HISTORY
1987 Name partner Agostinho de Miranda returns from the United States (where he was in-house legal counsel with Chevron) and sets up a legal practice in Lisbon. Agostinho' s initial clients include several global oil companies with operations in Angola.
1992 First Angolan lawyer joins Agostinho's practice as Luanda resident attorney. The practice grows to 5 attorneys including future name partners Rita Correia and Rui Amendoeira.
1997 10 attorney mark is reached. Angolan attorney Fátima Freitas joins Luanda office. Mozambique practice is launched.
1998 São Tomé and Príncipe office opens.
2000 Current name Miranda Correia Amendoeira & Associados is adopted.
2001 Relocation to new office premises in Lisbon. 25 lawyer mark is reached.
2004 Miranda forms strategic relationship with international legal services organisation DLA Piper. Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde offices open. New website goes live.
2005 Miranda Alliance is formed. 10-lawyer transport and tax specialist boutique Luis M. S. Oliveira joins Miranda. Equatorial Guinea and Houston offices open. Hummingbird Document Management system is deployed. Luanda office relocates to new premises. Mozambique firm Paulo Pimenta joins Miranda. Miranda Alliance tops 60 attorneys.
2006 After almost 20 years at the helm Agostinho Pereira de Miranda is replaced by Rui Amendoeira as Managing Partner. Agostinho is appointed Chairman. Equatorial Guinea office relocates to new premises. Miranda Alliance surpasses 100 attorneys.
2007 Timor-Leste and Madeira offices open. Major recruitment campaign to hire 30 new lawyers.
2008 Miranda Alliance reaches 150 attorneys. Brazil office joins Miranda Alliance. New office in Lobito (Angola).
2009 New website goes live.
