Miranda Partner gives presentation on "Basic Rules for Hiring Expatriate Workers in Angola"

Miranda Partner Rui Andrade will be a keynote speaker at the "Careers in Africa Summit" to take place on 5, 6 and 7 March 2010, in Cascais. This event is organised by Global Career Company (GCC), and is directed at Angolan and other Portuguese speaking African professionals living in Portugal and across Europe.


Rui's presentation is scheduled to take place on 5 March and will focus on four main topics: i) Basic Rules for Hiring Expatriate Workers in Angola; ii) Employment Contracts Regime for Foreign Workers; iii) Work Visas; and iv) Other Obligations: Employment Contract Registration, Social Security and Personal Income Tax (IRT).


Approximately 3,500 candidates are expected to attend the Summit. This initiative will serve as a platform offering international companies currently operating in Angola the means to meet their requirements to hire Angolan nationals. The event will also be offering Angolan companies the opportunity to hire skilled Angolan and Portuguese speaking African professionals. A wide range of business sectors and industries will be represented: Construction, Consumer Goods, Oil, Transportation & Logistic, Telecommunications, among others.


Founded in 2002, GCC is a London based international recruitment company dedicated to recruiting top African professionals working and studying abroad. GCC works with over 200 companies in the African market and has ensured the hiring of more than 600 Angolans and other Portuguese Speaking African professionals, who later returned to their home countries to develop their careers.
