2010/05/24 - Miranda expands into Gabon

Miranda is pleased to announce its expansion into Gabon through a correspondent law firm, Cabinet Jules Obiang. Miranda will be assisting clients mainly in the areas of oil & gas, telecommunications, banking and mining. For the first time, Miranda Alliance advances into French-speaking countries.

Miranda is the first international law firm to have a presence in Gabon through a correspondent law firm”, states Managing Partner Rui Amendoeira. “We are an international law firm and Gabon is the first step in a growth strategy in the French-speaking African countries. The challenges of the Portuguese economy and faced by Portuguese law firms are far too complex so we cannot limit our expansion to Portuguese-speaking countries alone: these markets are not limitless. We know these limitations very well as we’ve been active in these countries for many years”. Rui Amendoeira adds that, “The Gabon project was conceived several years ago, but we needed to find the right law firm before launching. We did. From the outset we recognised in Cabinet Jules Obiang the same values that have guided our organisation over the years”.

Shortly, an office is to be opened in the city of Port-Gentil, a hub of the petroleum industry in Gabon.

Miranda Alliance is an international association of law firms and offices present in four different continents: Europe, Africa, Asia and America, and 12 countries: Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial GuineaUSA (Houston), Macao, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste.
