Miranda signs cooperation protocol with Lisbon University Law School
Miranda and the Lisbon University Law School (FDUL) have recently signed a protocol of cooperation aimed at incorporating in the Firm a minimum of two graduate students who have participated in an international exchange programme. This protocol further sets out to bring international exchange program students studying at the Law School to the Firm for summer internship programmes.
Miranda will be the “Exclusive Sponsor” of the Erasmus Programme Office of FDUL and will cooperate with this Law School in the promotion of international student exchange programmes. The protocol was signed for an initial period of two years, including this academic year.
According to Prof. Eduardo Vera-Cruz Pinto, Dean of FDUL, “In a professional market shaped by demands resulting from globalisation, it has been FDUL’s policy to encourage and support our students’ active participation in university exchange programs, namely through the Erasmus programme. It was therefore with great pleasure that we accepted and successfully concluded the proposal presented by Miranda”. The Dean further commented: “It is a pleasure and reassuring to find that one of our priorities is also a top priority for a Portuguese law firm, in this case Miranda Correia Amendoeira & Associados”.
Agostinho Pereira de Miranda, Miranda Chairman states: “Establishing partnerships with prestigious academic institutions has long been a Miranda policy. In this case we will be supporting the outstanding work carried out by the Erasmus and the Students Career Opportunities offices of FDUL. Among Portuguese law firms, Miranda is one of the very few offering so many and so diverse international career opportunities". Miranda Founding Partner concludes: “An international experience is crucial for a professional’s growth and enrichment which is why we want to invest in those students who already considered this essential during the course of their academic career”.
