Agostinho Pereira de Miranda, Miranda Chairman comments: “Prof. Jan Dalhuisen is a distinguished scholar and the author of an internationally renowned work, widely acclaimed for its contemporary and innovative character. By combining a strong legal background with the creativity required for practical solutions of complex issues in international commerce, Prof. Dalhuisen will undoubtedly open a new era in the teaching and research of private international law in Portugal”. Mr. Pereira de Miranda further states: “This is the first time a law firm sponsors a Chair in Portugal. For this reason, Miranda is delighted to sponsor the Chair in Transnational Finance Law and is deeply honoured that Prof. Dalhuisen has accepted to take up this post at the University”.
