In 2005 Miranda set up a liaison office in Houston to provide assistance to Miranda Alliance’s US and Canada based clients, and to assist new clients and prospective investors in planning their operations in the jurisdictions covered by the Miranda Alliance. The Houston office assists investors in understanding and complying with the requirements and specificities of doing business in the Miranda Alliance countries and helps them gather and prepare the necessary documents to set up a presence in their country of choice, and further acts as a first line of support when problems arise. North American clients have overwhelmingly expressed their support and satisfaction at the service proximity offered by our Houston practice.

The ability to work in the same time zone of our North American clients has been instrumental in improving our response time and allowing for face to face advice where appropriate. The Houston office has also the capability of functioning as a communications hub, putting US and Canada based clients in touch with the right people on the other side of the Atlantic, thus reducing or even eliminating idle time.

Tiago Cruz is the current office head. Tiago started his career at Miranda in Lisbon and was subsequently assigned to the Equatorial Guinea office and later to the Timor-Leste office. These international experiences have allowed Tiago to become very familiar with the legal framework and operational environment of the Miranda Alliance jurisdictions.
