Rui Dinis Nascimento (born 1977), Associate. Graduate of the Lisbon University Law School (2001). Admitted in 2003. Joined the Firm in 2009.

Following his graduation, Rui worked as a trainee and later as an associate at Macedo Vitorino & Associados acquiring experience on corporate and tax law matters, as well as on drafting contracts and legal opinions. In 2003, Rui joined Grant Thornton Portugal as a tax consultant, advising on local and cross-border tax matters. In 2005 he moved to the Barcelona office of Mullerat Abogados, being assigned to the M&A practice of the firm and responsible for coordinating the legal and tax practice between the Spanish and the Portuguese offices. From 2006 to 2009, Rui practiced at the Madrid office of Landwell – PricewaterhouseCoopers as an international tax consultant, being fully assigned to the international tax planning practice of the firm. Rui acquired experience dealing with holding companies and advising on cross-border corporate restructuring, inbound and outbound tax structuring and advice on the application of Double Tax Treaties.

Rui obtained a Master of Laws in Tax Law (LL.M.) from the King’s College of London – University of London (2005). He has a post-graduate degree in Companies and Commercial Law from the Lisbon Law School of the Portuguese Catholic University (2003).

Rui speaks regularly at seminars and conferences and has published several articles on tax related matters. In addition, he lectured at the Camilo José Cela University Business School (2008-2009), Asociación para el Progreso de la Dirección (2008) and the Instituto de Empresa Law School (2009) while practicing in Madrid (Spain).

His practice focuses on tax law.

Rui is fluent in English and Spanish.
