João Santos (born 1968), Senior Associate. Graduate of the Lisbon University Law School (1991). Admitted in 1993. Joined the Firm in 2006.

João started his carrer at Coelho Ribeiro & Associados. Later he moved to Vasconcelos, F. Sá Carneiro, Fontes & Associados and became the partner in charge of the Private Clients and Labour Law Departments. In 2004 he became a partner at Uría Menéndez Lisbon office, where he was responsible for the Labour Law Department.

João has wide experience in all types of contentious and non-contentious employment work. His practice also includes experience in the areas of litigation, commercial arbitration and insolvency. He has also handled cases envolving the WIPO – World Intellectual Property Organization.

João is a regular contributor to several newspapers and legal bulletins, and has published articles and studies on several topics of law.

He was ranked as an Expert in Employment in the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions of the European Legal Experts Guide.

His practice focuses on employment law and litigation.

João is fluent in English and Spanish.
