Renato Guerra de Almeida (born 1979), Associate. Graduate of the Lisbon Law School of the Portuguese Catholic University (2003). Admitted in 2005. Joined the Firm in 2007.
Following his graduation, Renato joined Barros, Sobral, G. Gomes & Associados (BSG) as a trainee, where he acquired experience in administrative law and litigation.
Between 2005 and 2007, Renato was an associate at José Osvaldo Gomes & Associados, focusing his practice in all areas of public law, including administrative and environmental law, urbanism, public procurement and expropriations.
Renato attended a post-graduation in Banking Law at the Lisbon University Law School (2005) and a Course on the New Public Works Legal Regime at the Lisbon Law School of the Portuguese Catholic University (2008).
His practice focuses on administrative law (including litigation), land law, public procurement, oil and gas, environment and expropriations.
Between 2008 and 2009 Renato was head of the Firm's office in Díli, Timor-Leste. In Timor-Leste, he focused his practice primarily on the petroleum and mineral resources areas, also working with land law and foreign investments, as well as providing legal advice for state bodies in the drafting of legislation and regulations. He has also been active in advising local banking and financial services. In 2009, Renato returned to the Lisbon office, where he remains involved in Timor-Leste related matters.
He his licensed to practice law in Timor-Leste since 2008.
Renato is fluent in English and has a reasonable knowledge of Spanish and Tétum.
