Rui Andrade (born 1967), Partner. Graduate of the Lisbon University Law School (1992). Admitted in 1994. Joined the Firm in 2002.

Rui has a post-graduation in Droit Communautaire de la Consommation from the Faculté de Droit de l’Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium (1995).

In 1996 and 1997, Rui was a legal advisor to the Portuguese Consumer Institute. Between 1997 and 1999, he was a member of the Portuguese Government Council for Consumer Policy. In 1999, Rui was appointed Deputy of the Secretary of State for Consumer Policy and, in 2000, Head of the Office of the same member of the Portuguese Government, where he served until 2002. During his government experience, Rui was involved in the drafting of various laws on consumer protection, including the Law on Minimum Banking Services and the Law on Special Sales.

Rui is the author of “The Education of Consumers – Rights and Duties of Consumers” (1997) and “Insurance Dictionary” (2002).

Rui's practice focuses on litigation, employment, commercial law, competition law and consumer law.

He is fluent in English.
