Samuel Fernandes de Almeida (born 1974), Partner. Graduate of the Lisbon University Law School (1997). Admitted in 2001. Joined the Firm in 2005.

Following his graduation, Samuel was a trainee at the DG Taxud of the European Commission, in Brussels. Following his admission to the Portuguese Bar, Samuel joined Barros, Sobral, G. Gomes & Associados and later Oliveira, Martins, Moura, Esteves & Associados.

In 2004, Samuel was one of the founding partners of Luís M.S. Oliveira & Associados, a Lisbon-based firm specialised in tax, transportation, energy and public regulation issues, where he was responsible for the tax planning and tax litigation department.

Currently, Samuel is a lecturer on tax litigation at the ISG, Lisbon, being a regular contributor to several portuguese and international tax publications. He is frequently invited to speak in several tax conferences.

In 2000, Samuel attended a post-graduation course in Taxation by ISG.

Samuel was ranked as an Expert in Tax in the 2010 edition of the European Legal Experts Guide.

His practice focuses on tax planning and litigation.

Samuel is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
