As an organisation that is well aware of its duty to help in the construction and development of a sustainable society, Miranda is committed to a policy of Social Responsibility. In this respect, Miranda has participated in numerous activities in the areas of social development, environmental protection and education. In parallel, Miranda has encouraged its lawyers and suport staff to engage in volunteer activities and specifically to provide pro bono legal assistance to various organisations and projects.

In carrying out its Pro Bono and Social Responsibility Program, Miranda: 

- Provides pro bono legal services to the "LPN - Liga para a Protecção da Natureza" (Portuguese Association for the Protection of Environment) (www.lpn.pt);

- Provides pro bono legal services to the "LPDA - Liga Portuguesa de Defesa dos Animais" (Portuguese Association for the Protection of Animal Species) (www.lpda.pt);

- Provides pro bono legal services to "Fundação do Gil" (www.fundacaodogil.pt);

- Is a partner of project GRACE (www.grace.pt);

- Regularly promotes entertainment and sports iniciatives to raise funds for NGOs such as "Casa da Criança de Tires" (www.casadacrianca.net) and "SOS Racismo" (www.sosracismo.pt);

- Participates in the World Community Grid Project (www.worldcomuntygrid.org);

- Awards the Prize of Excellence to honour a law student from an African Portuguese-speaking country who graduates with the highest final average mark from the Portuguese Catholic University (www.ucp.pt/);

- Grants an annual scholarship for the Post-Graduate Commercial Law Course at the Portuguese Catholic University;

- Grants an Angolan student a 6-year scholarship to attend Middle School and High School at the Carlucci American International School of Lisbon (CAISL) (www.caislisbon.org);

- Is “Exclusive Sponsor” of the Erasmus Programme Office of the University of Lisbon Law School (www.fd.ul.pt);

- Funds the Chair on Transnational Finance Law at the Portuguese Catholic University, held by Prof. Jan Dalhuisen (www.ucp.pt);

- Has a Protocol with law firm Vieira de Almeida & Associados for the provision of pro bono legal services.
