LAW ON CONSUMER PROTECTION HAS ENTERED INTO FORCE

By means of Law No. 8/2016, of 8 July 2016, the National Parliament approved the Law on Consumer Protection, which entered into force on 9 July 2016.

 

Among others, the following matters are covered by the new law: (i) rights and duties in consumer transactions; (ii) available legal actions to prevent, correct, or remedy behaviours that may impact on consumers’ rights; (iii) contractual protection; (iv) business practices; (v) sanctions; (vi) protection of consumer rights; and (vii) consumer protection associations.
