Base values for determining the Fee for the Private Use of National Maritime Space approved

Through a Joint Order of the Ministers of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries and of the Economy and Finance, the base values, ​​and the respective calculation formula, of the fee due for the private use of National Maritime Space were determined, in accordance with the Regulations which Establishes the Legal Regime of Utilization of the National Maritime Space.

 

The Joint Order of 16 October 2020, establishes the base values ​​of the different components used to determine the

fee for the Private Use of National Maritime Space and which include, inter alia, (a) the area or volume of the occupied national maritime space; (b) activities likely to have an impact on the environment; and (c) provision of maritime security and other maritime services.

 

The Joint Order is applicable to all natural or legal persons holders of a concession or license for the Private Use of National Maritime Space. Also, included as “Infrastructures and Equipment” are materials such as Multipurpose platforms and floating structures; Underground and surface cables; Underground of surface pipelines for emission and capture, as well as an indeterminate field, named “Other uses or activities of an industrial nature”, which could basically cover any activity within Port Areas.
