Further to a proposal of the National Epidemic Management Committee (Comité National de Gestion des Épidémies - CNGE), the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, and the Government approved the following measures:

• Suspension of all air routes with France, Spain, Belgium, Italy and Portugal, as well as with Algeria and Tunisia;
  
• Temporary suspension of the reception of cruise ships;
  
• The strengthening of health controls at land, air and sea borders;
  
• Suspension of all hearings in the courts and tribunals for three weeks;
  
• A 30-day ban on all public demonstrations;
  
• Suspension of school and university activities for a period of three weeks;
  
• Suspension of national formalities related to pilgrimages in 2020.

The aforesaid measures are temporary and may be escalated if the overall situation of COVID-19 pandemic in Senegal so demands.
