Suspension of Insolvency Filing Obligations

Following the recent exceptional and temporary measures that the Portuguese State has been implementing, Law No. 4-A/2020, dated 6 April has just suspended the deadline for the debtor to file for insolvency.

The suspension is in force as of 9 march 2020 and has retroactive effects in what concerns the insolvency filing duty and related implications on the liability of the company’s directors and managers.

Accordingly, the 30 days period for the debtor to file for insolvency shall only start after the lifting of the exceptional measures.
